The process of obtaining an IEP and/or 504 for your child can be incredibly overwhelming and confusing. When preparing for the meeting or when attempting to understand your child's testing scores, understanding the school's responsibility for your child's education can be quite difficult to understand. Dr. Hugus, of Methuen Pediatric Therapy, LLC is now taking appointments to assist families by providing consultations for the IEP process. Dr. Kristie Hugus, is a doctor of occupational therapy, from Boston University and the owner of Methuen Pediatric Therapy, LLC. She has practiced within the school-based setting for more than 15 years and has provided school-based services within the states of Massachusetts, California, New York, and New Jersey. She has extensive knowledge of the testing materials, data scores, process and procedure including the timelines and the rights that all children have to access their curriculum and to receive a free appropriate public education (FAPE). A special education consultation at Methuen Pediatric Therapy with Dr. Hugus will include a walkthrough of the IEP process, a review of the timeline and your rights as a parent. A review of all the testing materials, suggestions for accommodations and supports to assist your child and a real picture of your child's disability within the school with an accurate objective opinion of your child's needs.
